Watch Care

BASIC CARE FOR YOUR WATCHES

  • Don't pull the crown out while the watch is wet.
  • Don't operate buttons or pull the crown out while the watch is underwater.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
  • Expose to very strong electrostatic charge will cause the watch malfunction and can even damage the watch components.
  • All types of watches need maintenance. Particularly for Mechanical and Automatic watches, they need to be serviced on every three years to ensure trouble-free time keeping.
  • It is advisable to remove or change the battery if it is exhausted. Battery leakage will harm the watch component.
  • Ensure the crown is pressed in all the time. For screw-type crown, ensure it is tightened completely.

CARE FOR STRAP / BRACELET

  • For metal based strap, a soft toothbrush with mild soapy water is recommended.
  • For resin/rubber strap, do not use abrasive agent, e.g. thinner, petrol based chemical detergent for cleaning. Use only dry or slightly moistened soft cloth for cleaning.
  • For leather band, extra care needed to be taken. Be sure to dry the band thoroughly when it is wet, to increase lifespan and avoid discolor. Prolonged wearing wet leather band may cause skin irritation.
  • Regular exposure to chemicals, sea water, cosmetic and perfumes can damage straps, bracelet and plated cases.

WATER RESISTANCE LEVEL

  • Check the water resistance level of your watch and refer to the following table for the recommended conditions of use.
  • Water resistance level is measured in bars, eg. 1 bar = 1 atmosphere. Watch manufacturers always measure water resistance to a number of feet (ft), meters (m) or atmosphere (atm).
